Lindsay Lohan turns 28 today, so what better time than now to find out interesting trivia about the actress, from her experience at the morgue to the influence Marilyn Monroe had on her leggings line.

Lindsay Lohan

1. Lindsay started modelling at three

Talk about starting ’em young.

Lindsay’s parents Dina and Michael signed lil Linds to Ford modelling agency when she was three.

Amongst her early jobs were Toys R Us print adverts and Calvin Klein Kids, which she did with her siblings (like Cheryl Cole who appeared in British Gas TV ads as a child with her little brother).

LiLo also popped up on TV ads for Jell-O and eventually landed a TV soap role on ‘Another World’ aged 10, going on to get her big break aged 12 when she played twins in ‘The Parent Trap’ movie.

2. Lindsay worked at a morgue

Lindsay’s troubles with the law are so manifold it can be hard to keep up with her punishments.

One particularly striking community service was cleaning duty at L.A. County Morgue while on bail.

LiLo had to take out the rubbish, wash windows and clean floors twice a week, and she told the Today Show she found the experience in 2011 a “learning experience” and “humbling”.

3. Lindsay had a run-in with the Bling Ring

The infamous gang the Bling Ring stole millions of dollars of jewellery and clothes from A-listers in 2008 and 2009. Lindsay was one of them. The victims, that is, not the burglars.

Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green, and Audrina Patridge were amongst the others whose belongings were stolen.

LiLo was renting a pad in the Hollywood Hills when the gang with expensive taste took thousands of dollars of her property, and the L.A.P.D. released surveillance footage from the scene of the crime.

Lindsay moved out of her rental straight after the burglary. Don’t blame her.

4. Lindsay’s leggings line was inspired by Marilyn Monroe

Lindsay turned her hand to fashion design in 2008 when she brought out her 6126 clothing line.

Where did the inspiration for the name come from? None other than Marilyn Monroe, who was born on 1 June 1926 (6.1.26 in US date format).

In collaboration with Kristi Kaylor, the collection stuck to leggings to begin with, and then expanded into a full clothing range in 2010 including jackets, skirts, dresses, corsets and blouses.

5. Lindsay’s heading to the West End

Lindsay is swapping the big screen (and court house) for the stage in September this year.

The actress is due to make her West End debut in David Mamet’s ‘Speed-The-Plow’. She’ll be following in the footsteps of Madonna, who starred in the play in 1988 on Broadway.

Alicia Silverstone and Elisabeth Moss have also played the part of Karen. No pressure then Linds.
